HEAD OF MANUFACTURING – SEMI
Position Summary
The selected individual will have the responsibility of overseeing all production engineering activities to ensure they meet the production and operational requirements for semiconductor/solar process equipment, medical, and aerospace industries, which involve machining and supplying highly accurate, high precision large to small components.
As a leader, they will serve as a key resource and will manage the production and operations team, overseeing procurement, production/manufacturing, quality, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning. The individual will also work to improve cost competitiveness and act as a liaison between cross-functional teams such as design, production, supply chain, inspection, inventory, and assembly.
The responsibilities include:
- Develop a clear understanding of the production process
- Implement process improvement techniques
- Implement quality control procedures
- Manage inventory levels effectively
- Build strong relationships with suppliers
- Utilize technology and data analytics
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices
- Supporting issues that might arise during production and machining processes, developing new processes to reduce cost and increase capacity, production, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Additionally, would manage customer-specific requirements and offer technical support in the machining of special materials and parts
- Should be able to handle multiple projects
Key requirements:
- Experience in production engineering and manufacturing – High precision and high accuracy parts
- Experience in developing new production and manufacturing processes
- Experience in quality assurance systems
- Skills in assembling special purpose machines is an added advantage
- Capable of suggesting machines for the production process, alternative materials, and inspection methods to achieve accuracy and cost reduction
- Technical and engineering acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good understanding of SEMI/ aerospace precision requirements and special materials such as titanium, quartz, aluminium alloys, stainless steel alloys, ceramics and composite materials
- Knowledge of cutting tools and selection of cutting parameters
- Knowledge of special heat treatment processes
- Special surface treatment and coating processes such as anodizing, electroplating, electro polishing, Passivation etc.
- Knowledge of surface finish fits and tolerances
- Sound knowledge of CNC machine setup, operation, and programming
- Latest fabrication and welding, metal joining processes
- Awareness about jigs and fixtures for manufacturing to meet the accuracy of the parts
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings, particularly precision components
- Vast experience with cross-functional management
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
